ABSTRACTS

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

• The Scientific Committee of APASL STC MANILA 2023 will only accept unpublished original scientific material. However, abstracts presented at local, regional or national meetings may still be submitted.
• Abstracts must be submitted in English.
• The research topic defining the abstract must be chosen.
• Preferred type of presentation (oral, poster) must also be chosen.
• The same abstract cannot be submitted for consideration in different abstract categories or research topics.
• Abstracts may not be withdrawn or updated following the notification of acceptance.
• Author names and affiliations:
  • The Presenting Author of the abstract must be one of the authors listed in the abstract. The abstract submission should be done by the first author of the abstract.
  • Up to 5 authors and affiliations may be included on each abstract. All authors must have consented to the abstract submission. Please do not reference institution names, locations, or funding sources in the abstract.
  • Presenting authors are responsible for proofreading before submission. No edits will be allowed in submitted abstracts for typing, spelling, or grammatical errors.
• Abstracts should be submitted as PDF according to following format of abstract:
  • Research Category:
  • Name of Presenting Author (only one): Last Name, First Name, Affiliation
  • Abstract title: must not exceed 20 words (First letter of each word in uppercase, except for articles, prepositions, and conjunctions).
  • Abstract text: must not exceed 300 words (excluding the Title, Authors, and Affiliations).
  • Structure of the abstract must consist of the following components:
    Background/Objectives, Methodology, Results and Conclusion:
    * Graphs and Tables can be submitted as part of the abstract. Limit to 3 graphs and tables.
    * The maximum file size is 2MB
• The Scientific Committee of APASL STC MANILA 2023 reserves the right to accept or refuse an abstract, to designate abstract as oral or poster presentation and to choose a suitable session for the abstract. The authors’ preference of the type of the presentation and theme will be taken into account
• All presenting authors must have registered and paid to attend the conference by May 15, 2023.

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE

• For all accepted abstracts, the presenting author will be notified of acceptance status via email. The presenting author must inform any co-author(s) of acceptance.
• The Organizing Committee reserves the right to accept or decline any submissions and to select the presentation format.

ABSTRACT MODIFICATION OR WITHDRAWAL

• Presenting Authors may modify or withdraw the submitted abstract at My Page prior to the submission deadline.
• Following receipt of notification of acceptance via email, any abstracts can no longer be modified or withdrawn

RESEARCH AWARDS

To encourage abstract submission, the organizing committee will provide special awards to recognize top researches: Young Investigator Award (YIA), Best Poster Awards and Travel Grants.

YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD ( YIA)

This award is given to recognize excellence amongst those involved in research training in the early stages of their career.

Criteria for Eligibility:

• Candidates should be less than 45 years old at the time of the conference ( born after May 29, 1978).
• Candidates must submit an oral abstract and register and attend the full Conference if accepted.
• Awarding of Young Investigator Award (YIA) will be held at the Closing Ceremony on May 31, 2023

How to Apply

• Candidates must tick the Young Investigator Award (YIA) box while submitting an abstract.
• Scanned copy of any valid ID or Passport indicating Date of Birth and Nationality is required.

BEST POSTER AWARDS

This award is given to recognize outstanding poster presentations.

TRAVEL GRANT AWARDS

This will be awarded mainly to the excellent presenters from overseas to support their travel expenses.
